·         SoccerFest registration fees and U17Girls team refund reflected in the income report.  MUSC donated money to amateur soccer league donated money. 

·         Bethany fields payment reflected in publicity costs but will be switched to the fields category. 

·         MUSC new computer lap top purchased for registrar activity per board voting per email quorum.

·         Referee and tournament registration expenses were a large part of the May expenses as expected.

·         MUSC bylaws emailed prior to meeting for review. No further discussion or corrections.

Motion to approve revised bylaws by Jim R. and seconded by Rick F., motion carried. New bylaws will be sent with this months minutes per secretary.

Registrar/Southwest District Representative

·         Discussion about getting forms ready for fall registration.  Fees will remain the same as fall 2004 (fees reviewed last year).   Fall sign-up will begin Saturday, July 23 and end Saturday July 30.  Saturday, July 23 will be the walk-up sign-up at Flying Penguin. MYSA league play begins August 15.

·         MYSA District Tournament will be held at Land of Memories July 16 to 17 for girl and boy teams.  Girl teams (11 teams) registered U12 to U16 and boy teams are U11 to U17 (13 teams).  Grid of playing dates, times, fields, and teams presented.  Details of registration, concessions, and referees in process of completion.

Recommend to registrar to cross reference summer forms for fall forms but change fees and dates.

Subgroup of Jack L., Paul G., Kris E., and Ron E. to review registration forms for revisions.

Fundraising/Publicity

·         Cub’s Hotdog stand made $619.39 part of money was used to purchase grill for the hotdog stand activity and any future club activity.

Dan O. will check into to adding HyVee hotdog stand fundraiser in addition to Cub’s.

Field Development

Jim R.

·         Getting a future soccer fields is still in the community discussion.  Community Parks is evaluating all parks to for space and potential fields. 

Board members agreed having a complex of at least 6 fields and other lesser number fields at various parks throughout city.

Rec Plus

Bert B./Rick F.

·         Registration done a Land of Memories building. Concerns about having registration ready at least 1 hour in advance.  Parking continues to be a concern.  Also the MSU soccer team not able to help with skills station and that was covered on the spot by a board member.  Also, there were reports about volunteers not being used and this was a frustration for them.

Rick F. and Bert B. want to hear all about concerns and want people to email thoughts to them via MUSC website.

Old Business

·  United Way

·         “$1 a week donation” fundraiser for Rec and Rec Plus teams.  Need volunteers for this program.

 

·  Players transporting other players

·         Discussed what is ruling for the U17 and under age groups with driver’s license and transporting other players to games.

The law covers these scenarios:

1.    Player may drive self to game.

2.        Player may drive self with parent or adult over 21 to game.

3.       Player may drive self with parent or adult over 21 with other players to game.

New Business

Future registration and uniforms

 

·         Discussion about possibly changing registration site or simply mailing registration forms especially for fall soccer.

·         Kelme cannot guarantee same uniforms. The contract was for 3 years and the date is expired or near expiration. 

 

 

 

Suggested soccer uniforms and equipment swap at registration.
